What Time Will Stores Open on Black Friday

Are you ready for Black Friday? This year is going to be huge for online deals because this has been the year of online shopping. Get ready for Walmart to go all out, too, because this has been a big year for one of the largest retailers. Walmart Plus (Walmart+) launched this year, and it may be something you want to look into if you plan to do a lot of Black Friday shopping through Walmart. That Unlimited Free Delivery benefit is definitely worth considering.

We now know Walmart's official plans for its Black Friday 'Deals for Days' events throughout November so we can begin to prepare ourselves (and our wallets) for the deals ahead.

In recent years, Black Friday has started earlier and earlier each year. Really, it should be called Black November since the deals are usually known about and start several weeks before the big day. And usually even the big day started sneaking into Thanksgiving Day with store doors opening at midnight or earlier.

Walmart has reconfigured the way it does Black Friday for 2020 and, instead of pushing shoppers into stores, it is instead offering deals throughout November with the majority of the deals available online first. Walmart has also said it will close its doors on Thanksgiving Day to give essential workers the day off for the first time in a long time.

Walmart's Black Friday 'Deals for Days' event explained

Now we know the official plans for Black Friday at Walmart, we can confirm some dates and time frames. Walmart's 'Deals for Days' sale will be split across three events in November with deals starting as early as November 4. Pay attention, because it's kind of confusing.

Event 1 kicks things off online on November 4 with deals on toys, electronics, and home products. Those deals start at 7pm ET and the event will continue in-store from November 7 at 5am local time. New deals will also go live at Walmart's website on November 7 at 12am ET so you can get a headstart on in-store shoppers.

The second event begins online a week later on November 11, again at 7pm ET. Just like the first event, the sale continues in-store the subsequent Saturday, November 14, at 5am local time, with more deals added online ahead of time at 12am ET on that same day.

The third and final event gets started online on November 25, the day before Thanksgiving, at 7pm ET. New deals will be added online at 12am ET on November 27 (Black Friday) with the deals being available in-store from 5am on Black Friday itself.

We know Walmart stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day but that won't include Walmart.com, however, so you can continue shopping the early deals right through dinner if you want.

Walmart's Black Friday online sale

Walmart is clearly prioritizing online shoppers here by getting the deals out early for at-home buyers. It has also said that it will be metering customers into stores to help reduce congestion and aid social-distancing so don't expect bustling crowds like years past.

We expect to see every deal Walmart advertizes for in-store available online as well, and probably sooner judging by the time frames set out above. Keep in mind that Walmart+ also guarantees in-store pricing when you shop with that subscription service online.

What deals will Walmart's Black Friday sale offer?

Walmart also stated that shoppers can look forward to deals from top brands, like HP, Instant Pot, LEGO, L.O.L. Surprise!, Roku, and Shark during its Black Friday sales, including many deals that can only be found at Walmart.

Where is the Black Friday Walmart ad?

This year, Walmart is having several major sales before Black Friday even begins! The deals in these early sales are truly Black Friday-level deals, but Walmart is hoping to keep people from rushing its stores all on one day and is instead doling out all the best deals throughout next month beginning November 4. The ad for these events has now been released to give us some early insight on what to expect from Walmart's Black Friday sale next month.

Walmart always has some of the best Black Friday deals every year, and 2020 seems to be no exception. Many of these deals begin on Wednesday, November 4, however there are several days in which Walmart is releasing new offers throughout November.
